Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have began moves to impeach Governor Akinwumi Ambode. The move which began Monday evening is said to be over alleged gross misconduct.
You will recall that Ambode lost the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the party primaries which held in October last year.
Shortly after losing the election, Ambode issued a statement saying Sanwo-Olu has mental issues and had been a patient at Gbagada General Hospital.
This recent development might also be connected to his falling out with party leaders in the state, some of who claim his administration sidelined them.
