Lion King Movie – Disney Sets July Release Date

An upcoming American musical fantasy drama film directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The Lion King 2019 movie is set to be released in July.

Plans for a remake of The Lion King were confirmed in September 2016 following the success of Favreau’s The Jungle Book. Much of the main cast signed in early 2017 and principal photography began in mid-2017 on a blue screen stage in Los Angeles. 

In the new trailer released yesterday, we get to see a whole lot more than we did in the teaser, which was released back in November 2017. Some of the shots are directly inspired by iconic shots from the classic animated movie. While this movie is animated, not live action as some have claimed, the film takes a more photorealistic approach.
