Kunle Afolayan has a new movie coming, titled Anikulapo, and it looks like it’ll blow our minds away.
Anikulapo stars Nollywood heartrob Kunle Remi in the lead role playing a young man on a quest for greener pastures in ancient Oyo kingdom.
The film is also set to star Sola Sobowale, Bimbo Ademoye, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Taiwo ‘Ogogo’ Hassan, Aisha Lawal and more.
If you’ve been following Kunle Remi and director Kunle Afolayan on Instagram, you must have been seeing teases and bits of the movie while it was in production. We now have a release date and it’s much closer than we imagined.
Anikulapo is slated for a September 30, 2022 release date on Netflix.
Kunle Afolayan himself has, in the past, compared Anikulapo to popular epic series Game of Thrones, only this time with a major on Yoruba culture and traditions.
We don’t have a trailer yet, but all signs point at it being as epic as its recently released counterpart from EbonyLife Studios. Fingers crossed.
