It’s finally around the corner! After six years, Doctor Strange is getting a sequel to his solo movie. Benedict Cumberbatch has done a very good job portraying the titular character so far, so, naturally, it’s great to see the Marvel Cinematic (multi)Verse isn’t done with him yet.
Since Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is one of the most anticipated blockbusters of this summer, it’s a no-brainer for a lot of fans to want to see it almost as soon as it drops. Therefore, it’s pertinent that you know old MCU movies and TV shows to catch up on so as to better appreciate this sequel when you get to see it.
Let’s dive in!
Doctor Strange (2016)
This was the movie that introduced us to the Sorcerer Supreme and with it, came the introduction of magic into the MCU.
In an accident, Stephen Strange, a famous neurosurgeon, loses the ability to use his hands. He goes to visit the mysterious Ancient One to heal himself and becomes a great sorcerer under her tutelage.
Judging by all the promotional materials, we’ll be seeing a lot of Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. What better way to stay abreast with one of the most powerful beings in the MCU right now than to catch up on her own solo outing?
What If…? (2021)
You can go ahead and watch all the episodes in the first season of this MCU animated show, or you can single out the first and fourth ones. According to the Doctor Strange sequel’s promotional materials, there are a couple of new characters from there that’ll be making their live-action debut.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
No Way Home may have given us the beauty that is three Spider-Men in one place, but it’ll also be remembered as the time Doctor Strange (once again) messed with the laws of nature and the multiverse.
