The Queen (2006)
Queen Elizabeth II is portrayed tastefully by Dame Helen Mirren in this movie. The plot sees the queen try to deal with a series of events following the death of Princess Diana. Mirren took home an Oscar for Best Actress for her performance here and the movie has remained one of the most notable on-screen portrayals of Her Royal Majesty.
The King’s Speech (2010)
Although based mostly on the life of King George VI, his daughter Elizabeth makes notable appearances in the movie.
King George VI (Colin Firth) tries to overcome his stammering problem with the help of speech therapist Lionel Logue and makes himself worthy enough to lead his country through World War II.
A Royal Night Out (2015)
What’s better than a dramatization of the royal family? One where comedy is sprinkled on it.
On VE day, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, against the Queen’s wishes, are allowed to join the celebrations. Bored with traditional ceremonies and customs, they decide to sneak out of the palace.
The Crown ((2016-2023)
The Crown is a historical drama television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The show is easily one of the most expensive ever made; one look at it and you’d see where most of the money is going. The show is so tastefully made that it was reported that the Queen herself was a fan.
Elizabeth the Unseen Queen (2022)
It’s a documentary made using home video shots taken by the British royal family themselves. The film aired on BBC One on 29 May 2022, in commemoration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and showed the royal family in a more familial many than the world typically sees them in.
