Apple Music confirmed in a tweet on Thursday, June 16 that Beyonce is set to release a new album titled “Renaissance.”
According to the tweet, Act i of Renaissance will release on July 29, making it officially 3 years and 10 days since she curated The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack album for the 2019 animated remake of The Lion King and for Black Is King.
That project released on July 19, 2019 and featured several African big hitters including Wizkid, Burna Boy and more.
Earlier in 2021, Beyonce dropped a hint at the project in cryptic fashion when she told Harper’s Bazaar Magazine in an interview about when she might be releasing new music.
Bey said, “I feel a renaissance emerging,” adding that she’s been putting in work for more than a year.
Indeed, her last major album release was the record-wracking Lemonade which released in 2016. Lemonade is Beyonce’s 6th solo album and is certified 3x Platinum by RIAA after moving over 1.5 million units.
