Media mogul and CEO EbonyLife Group, Mosunmola Abudu, popularly known as Mo Abudu has been named the 98th most powerful woman in the world by American business and lifestyle magazine, Forbes, and it is spurring congratulatory messages from her fans and Nigerians alike.
Forbes’ 18th annual list of power women includes 40 CEOs, 19 world leaders, an immunologist and, for the first time in more than a decade, a new number one.
Mo Abudu who recently secured a TV deal with BBC Studios joins MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of billionaire Jeff Bezos, whom according to Forbes is the most powerful woman in the world. Scott is followed by Vice-President of the United States Kamala Harris, Christing Legarde, Mary Barra, and Melinda Gates to complete the top 5.
World Trade Organization Director General, Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is also on the list, in 91st place, while Tanzanian President Samia Sulu Hassan came in 94th place.

It won’t be the first time the former human resources management consultant is getting on such honourable global list. She has previously been described by Forbes as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman”, and rated as one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Global Television” by The Hollywood Reporter.
