Afrobeats star, Davido and long-time partner Chioma have reportedly lost their son Ifeanyi David Adeleke. Although there’s been no confirmation from the parents, Ifeanyi drowned in the pool per multiple reports. The tragic, but unconfirmed news has spread a dark cloud of trauma, panic, and mourning over the internet, and with celebrities taking to social media to commiserate with the famed couple on their loss via cryptic posts, the incident might well be true.
Some of those celebrities include comedians Ayo Makun (AY) and Lasisi Elenu, radio personality Daddy Freeze, Steflon Don, Eniola Badmus and more.
Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, November 1 wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”
In an Instagram Live, Daddy Freeze also suggested the rumours are true, before going on to cancel his late-night live broadcast. “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight,” admitted the radio presenter.
Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”
Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
Currently, the news of Ifeanyi’s rumored death is the number one topic on Twitter trends for Nigeria, and emanated from a now deleted post made by actress, Eniola Badmus, late Monday, October 31. The actress probably deleted the post following backlash from fans for leaking such sensitive information.
Davido and Chioma welcomed Ifeanyi in October of 2019, 3rd child and first son of the singer from different women. He celebrated his 3rd birthday on 20th October this year. Both parents recently rekindled their love after a 2-year hiatus. A couple of weeks ago, Davido announced they will tie the knot next year.
