Now That ‘Anikulapo’ Is Streaming On Netflix, Here’s What Fans Are Saying About Kunle Afolayan’s Latest Movie

Kunle Afolayan Anikulapo movie

Kunle Afolayan’s latest movie Anikulapo has been the talk of the town since it debuted on Netflix and in cinemas on September 30. The story follows Saro, a zealous traveler who encounters a mystical bird with the power to give him another chance.

Anikulapo sees Kunle Afolayan, once again, tell a story of morals and consequences with the artistic style and vibrant cinematography the prolific filmmaker has come to be known for.

It’s a culture-rich universe that’s beautiful to look at, one that features a lot of famous faces playing characters of varying degrees of importance.

While the movie can neither be said to be iconic nor mind-blowing, it’ll surely be remembered as one of Afolayan’s most simplistic stories to ever grace the big screen, and that, I believe, is something.

Here’s what netizens have to say about the movie:

Agboola S 🇳🇬 on Twitter: “Just to add; it’s my opinion the movie is currently the best ever produced in this country, it’s ahead of King of Boys based on execution and storyline. / Twitter”

OmoKehinde Olateju on Twitter: “Dear young man, if you find yourself a woman like Arolake who is willing to be with you at your lowest. Don’t repay her with betrayal like Saro did. It doesn’t end well. If you don’t suffer it now, you will suffer it later. #anikulapothemovie / Twitter”

Joy Ogbeide on Twitter: “Kunle Afolayan should be considered a national treasure at this point. Storytelling at its best. 👏👏👏 This would be how I reward myself for jobs well done this week, a good movie. 🍿#Anikulapo #anikulapothemovie pic.twitter.com/w5REabuwpz / Twitter”

Ijeoma Ntada on Twitter: “I enjoyed watching Anikulapo. Again, Yoruba is such a beautiful language. A part of me feels Saro was fated to end the way he did. How could anyone be so careless with a second chance? Well, pride consumes. #anikulapothemovie pic.twitter.com/EGZi1AE3Az / Twitter”

😇Rahmat on Twitter: “Arolake literarily fought a grim reaper ☠️💀, brave enough to take a potentially wealth from it for love, and smart enough to know she shouldn’t step forward to wake the dead because she would have been tagged a witch. The movie is a 10/10 for me.#Anikulapo #anikulapothemovie / Twitter”
