According to reliable reports, the Kano state deputy governor, Nasiru Gawuna, alongside his state’s commissioner for local governments, Murtala Sule Garo, have been arrested by officials of the Nigeria Police Force.
The men were said to have been arrested under the charge of attempting to disrupt the collation of result at Nasarawa local government area of the state. The chairman of Nasarawa local government, Alhaji Lamin Sani was also arrested by the police.
The Nasarawa local government result is the last to be collated by the INEC out of the 44 local government areas in the state.
The police said journalists will be briefed in full about the incident this morning.
