American singer Kelly Clarkson was ordered by a US court to pay her husband $200,000 every month in spousal and child support. Kelly officially filed for divorce back in June 2020, ending her seven-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock and setting off a series of unfortunate events that nobody saw coming, including accusations of fraud, custody battles, and, naturally, money issues.

The judgement was met with different opinions on the internet and OAP Toke Makinwa got in on the debate writing on her IG story that a woman paying $200K to an ex-husband, in spousal support “makes me sad”.

Her reaction to the judgement also raised eyebrows, from fellow OAP, rapper N6 of CoolFM Lagos in particular who said she’s not intelligent enough to hold certain conversations.
However, Toke has taken to her IG story again in response to N6’s comments.
“The freedom that comes from not trying to impress the world, Not caring if you’re liked or not, Not trying to fit in, Not allowing the crowd mentality own you is priceless. I am not afraid of airing any opinion, If I’m wrong I learn, If I’m right, I welcome diversity. So many people are too afraid to live for the fear of judgment. No one can judge me, no one is feeding me, no one deserves that much power”.

Alongside her career, Toke Makinwa has maintained she is a feminist, and has often made her views known whenever issues concerning binary gender rise up.
