Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been thrown into recent mourning with the loss of her father, Vernon Winfrey to cancer.
Oprah took to her social media handle to break the news:
“Yesterday with family surrounding his bedside, I had the sacred honor of witnessing the man responsible for my life, take his last breath. We could feel Peace enter the room at his passing.”
“That Peace still abides. All is well. Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts 🙏🏾”
Vernon’s death comes barely a week after he was celebrated at a 4th of July lavish party tagged ‘Vernon Winfrey Appreciation Day.’
May his soul rest in peace.
