Our Favorite Telenovelas Of All Time

Keep scrolling to see some of your favorite Telenovelas

While most films are bound to include suspense, drama and all the tension that comes with it, telenovelas are way more intense. The fact that we all had to wait a whole 24 hours just to find out what goes on in the next episode is enough to pump any blood pressure. If you happen to be a part of the club that had to wait up every night at 8/9pm to enjoy the romance, the cliche storytelling and classic love triangles/squares then this post was surely made for you.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite Telenovelas:

The Boss (La Patrona)

The Boss – whose name appears to be a giveaway tells the story of a female miner and single mother, Gabriela Suarez, played by Aracely Arámbula. Gabriela, who follows in her father’s footsteps in being a miner is disliked and taunted by her colleagues for being a part of the industry typically dominated by men. She ends up falling in love with the son of the Antagonist (The boss) which brings forth her greatest misfortune. Due to her strong will and fierceness, she’s able to fight back to regain everything she lost.

It stars Telemundo favorites like Jorge Luis Pilas, Christian Bach, Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco and others.

Second Chance (El Cuerpo del Deseo)

Taking it’s rightful place as one of the most popular and most watched telenovela, it follows the story of a wealthy old man, Don Pedro, who marries a younger lady, Isabel, against the wishes of his daughter and the rest of his family. He dies suddenly of a heart attack and returns back to earth through transmigration (the passing of a soul into another body after death) in the body of a handsome young man in order to uncover secrets and reclaim his beloved wife. This series particularly had everyone on the edge of their seats. Insane!

Cast includes: Andrés García, Lorena Rojas, Mario Cimarro and Martín Karpan.

Aurora

One thing telenovelas have consistently succeeded in doing is making the viewers eager for what’s next. This series specifically put our patience to test as it told the story of Aurora, a 19-year-old dancer, who falls in love with dance instructor, Lorenzo. Jealousy comes in the way of their love and leaves their hearts broken. Aurora falls ill and is cryogenized – frozen for 20 years by her father. She later wakes up to discover everything’s changed (obviously) and most importantly, the love of her life being married to her best friend.

It stars: Sara Maldonado, Eugenio Siller, Jorge Luis Pila, Lisette Morelos, Aylin Mujica.

My Heart Beats For Lola (Mi corazón insiste en Lola Volcán)

Awarded as Novela of the year in 2012, it tells the tale of two love birds, Lola and Andres. Their undying love is confronted by their families who are not in support due to their different social classes. Although, the series was intended to have only Andres’ heart beating, it thrived in making sure it took all of our hearts along. Incredible!
The telenovela had the viewers go through a roller-coaster of emotions as their love appeared almost impossible.

Cast includes: Carmen Villalobos, Jencarlos Canela, Ana Layevska, Angelica Maria.
