The Lagos State Police Command has issued a statement following a clash involving members of its unit with Afrofusion sensation BNXN formerly known as Buju. After a video footage of the incident surfaced online, the singer appeared to have taken to his Twitter page to share some of the things that transpired, including spitting in the face of one of the officers. Apparently, he enjoyed that one.
According to multiple reports, part of BNXN fka Buju’s tweet read, “I just spat in a police officers face and it felt so good” [sic]. Another tweet appeared to have detailed some of the events that led to the confrontation but, that also was deleted by Buju.
“I let you in my car and you drag and tear my shirt and slapping me? Nah everybody must stop,” said the “Propeller” singer in the second tweet.
The police have now said that he [BNXN fka Buju] will be persecuted for spitting at an officer if he is found guilty, otherwise the officers involved in the incident will be sanctioned.
The statement was issued by the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin via a Twitter post where he mentioned the singer.
“@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet. The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”
After a successful 2021 that saw him release an EP Sorry I’m Late, BNXN fka Buju is close to making his long awaited full album debut. He also launched his personal NFT collection earlier this year titled ‘Heads By BNXN (HBB)’. Check this POST out for more on that if you’re an NFT buff and you happen to be a fan of the singer.
