President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari Today, being the 24th day of January 2018, forwarded a proposed New National minimum wage of N27,000 to the National Assembly.
This was confirmed by the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, who read President Buhari’s letter on the floor of the Senate during plenary.
The letter also further noted that passing the bill on time would effectively stabilize the economy, as Nigerian workers have been looking towards solving the Labor crisis.
“Mr. Senate President, I hope if the bill is passed on time, it would stabilise the nation’s economy and avoid workers’ strike. ”
I would however want you to recall that the National Council of State, a body of the past and present leaders of Nigeria, approved the N27,000 minimum wage at their meeting in the state house on Tuesday January 22nd.
