Progress Emerges Winner of Nigerian Idol Season 7

The Deltan-born singer beat the other 11 contestants to take home the grand prize of N100m

After several months of singing and pulling impressive performances, Progress Chukwuyem has emerged the winner of the Nigerian Idol Season 7.

This was announced at the Grand Finale which was broadcasted across Africa Magic stations on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

It’s been a long trail of watching the top 12 contestants singing their hearts out on the live shows to earn fan votes, however, Progress and Zadok emerged as the final two.

The show’s host, IK Osakioduwa, announced the 21-year-old as the winner after he battled with velvety voiced singer, Zadok for the grand prize of N100m.

He wins a cash prize of N30 million, a brand-new SUV, a Bigi branded refrigerator and a year’s supply of Bigi drinks. He will also get to record an EP and a music video, enjoy a weekend getaway from TravelBeta, and receives a DStv Explora fully installed with a 12-month premium subscription.

For the finale, D’banj and Simi, who are also judges for the show, performed on stage and thrilled the audience.

ProducerC Pheelz also entertained with his chart topping single, Finesse, D’banj had a performance with the two finalists, while the season 6 winner, Kingdom Kroseide, performed with the other 10 finalists.
