


It seems that after much attempt, Saudi Arabian agency has failed to sight the crescent moon. This means that the Ramadan fast is to continue on Wednesday while Eid-el-Fir will be on Thursday.
This evening, the Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIS) released a Twitter statement stating this continuation.
There was no positive sighting of Shawwal crescent in Nigeria today, 29th Ramadan 1442 AH (Tuesday, 11th May 2021). Hence, tomorrow is 30th Ramadan 1442 AH (Wednesday, 12th May 2021) is. #EidAlFitr is Thursday!

Usually lasting for either twenty-nine to thirty days, the Ramadan fast ends when the crescent moon is sighted.
With the shift of the fast today, this Ramadan will last for thirty days.
