Popular Nigerian rapper YCee has deplored the lack of a recognised Nigerian rapper in the line-up of performers for American rapper, Rick Ross’ tour of Nigeria.

Rick Ross is on a promotional tour of Africa for Brett Berish manufactured brand of sparkling wines Luc Belaire, and according to posters and billboards around Lagos, will be touring alongside Nigeria’s Afropop sensation Davido.

According to the 29-year-old former Tinny Entertainment act, YCee, events like this force rappers to leave the genre for other more profitable and valued style of music.

“Bruh this ain’t even about me cos I haven’t put out rap music in a while but how do you have a Rick Ross show in Nigeria and not have ONE SINGLE NIGERIAN RAPPER ON THE LINE UP??? And tomorrow you wanna come on twitter and ask why rappers are switching genres,” wrote YCee on Twitter.

YCee returned with another tweet, affirming his elation at Ross being in Nigeria and highlighted the real reason behind his first controversial tweet.

ZAHEER! on Twitter: “Imma enjoy the show tho just pointing out how there are so many factors stacked against the average rapper in this current musical climate 🙏🏾 / Twitter”
