Rihanna confirmed she will be headlining the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. After rumours began spreading online, the 34-year-old mother of one posted a photo on Instagram where she was holding up a football.

Rihanna and long-time friend turned lover ASAP Rocky welcomed their first child together earlier this year. However, while ASAP has dropped a couple of records since their busy romantic-and-parenting-schedule, Rih has been marginally involved with music. She’s dedicated plenty of her time to pushing her Fenty fashion though, but it seems she’s getting set with returning to music after this announcement.

Rih’s last body of work was 2016’s Anti. Despite rumours of another album kicking off in 2019, Rih has maintained that she’s not really had time for music. Nonetheless, the Navy will be feeling optimistic that new music is on the way and, those studio session spots might be backing-up their anticipation. After all, what better time to premier new music than during the monstrous Super Bowl Halftime Show?
