Social media and blogs have been reverberating with stories of Nigerian Afrobeats giant Wizkid and his former employer Banky W ever since Banky appeared in an interview hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

In the interview, Banky talked about his political ambition and his marriage amongst many other things, but it’s the part where his former signee Wizkid was refrenced that’s been causing all the controversies, especially after Wizkid quoted one of the clips with “LOL.”

The former EME Records boss’ sweetheart, actress and singer Adesuwa Etomi Wellington was also in attendance, as fans continue to reshare clips whilst dropping a piece of their mind.

Apparently, producer and singer Samklef who happened to have worked with the now dissolved EME Records, producing several songs on Wizkid’s debut album “Superstar” did not agree with Banky’s sentiments that he (Banky) parted with Wizkid on amicable terms.

Samklef in various tweets called out Banky W, accusing him of not paying him royalties for his work on the hit song “Pakurumo.”

Banky and Wizkid

Samklef went further to host a 40 mins plus long Instagram live video, where he seemingly shared some dark truths about Wizkid and Banky W’s relationship and the overall music industry.

In the video, the “Molowo Noni” singer accused Banky of being a smart schemer who knew how to get what he wanted from people.

He continued that Banky felt too entitled and wanted to control Wizkid’s life and creativity, to the point he would tell him who not to hang with and that’s majorly why Wizkid left.

We cannot confirm if any of the accusations levelled against Banky W and his EME Records by Samklef are true, however, he has promised to do a feature length documentary that’s supposed to tell us more.

Moreover, several recent tweets shared by him claim that him and Banky are now communicating, trying to find a peaceful way to settle their differences. Banky has remained relatively silent about the situation in the public eye.
