Anticipation has been high for Disney’s live-action take on the iconic 1989 animated movie The Little Mermaid. We’ve been fed a teaser and photo, and those have led us to this moment to view the first official trailer.
The Little Mermaid follows rebellious 16-year-old mermaid Ariel (Jodi Benson) is fascinated with life on land. On one of her visits to the surface, which are forbidden by her controlling father, King Triton, she falls for a human prince. Determined to be with her new love, Ariel makes a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula (Pat Carroll) to become human for three days. But when plans go awry for the star-crossed lovers, the king must make the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter.
Hailey Bailey stars as Ariel, the titular mermaid, and is supported by a cast of talented actors which includes Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jonah Hauer-King) as Prince Eric, to mention but a few.
We see many detailed underwater scenes that assures us this movie will be a visual spectatcle when it arrives in May 26, 2023.
