Nigerians Dominate MOBO Awards Best African Music Act Category

The MOBO Awards acknowledges the best Black music in the UK, Africa, the Caribbean and beyond. The grand ceremony will hold on Sunday 5 December, 2021.

The nominees for the prestigious British Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards were announced on Wednesday 11th November and 8 Nigerian musicians have been nominated for the Best African Music Act Award.

They are, CKay, Wizkid, Tems, Rema, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Star, and Davido. Eight of them will vie for the award with London based band NSG and Ghanaian singer King Promise.

British rapper Santan Dave or just Dave dominates this year’s MOBO Awards with 5 nominations. Dave is nominated for album, song and video of the year, plus best male act and best hip-hop act. Drill rapper Central Cee has four nominations, capping a breakthrough year in which he released two Top 10 hits, “Commitment Issues” and “Obsessed With You.”
