Shakira And Partner, Pique Split After 11 Years Of Dating

Colombian singer, Shakira and Spanish footballer, Gerard Pique have ended their 11-year relationship following cheating allegations.

A brief statement released by the singer’s agency on June 4th, 2022 confirmed their split.

It read, “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

This comes shortly after the Barcelona centre-back was allegedly caught in bed with another woman.

It had been reported that the couple’s relationship was going through hurdles as Spanish outlet, El Periodico claimed the duo have been living separately for a few weeks after Pique was kicked out of their family home. He was said to be staying in a bachelor pad and has been living a “party lifestyle” since the split.

Further reports also claim that the Barcelona player has been frequenting nightclubs with team-mate Riqui Puig and his group of friends, often returning home as late as two or three in the morning.

The 45-year-old singer hinted at disharmony between the pair in her latest hit ‘Te Felicito’ with Rauw Alejandro.

Shakira and Pique first met at the 2010 FIFA World Cup when the singer performed the official song, Waka-Waka

Afterwards, they begun dating but never officially tied the knot.

The pair have two children together, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven.
