Simi announced the title and release date for her upcoming fourth studio album in a handwritten emotional letter to her fans on May 3.
The pop star and mother of one had not released any such project since 2019’s “Omo Charlie Champagne Vol. 1.”
She began the note by admitting that several factors had delayed the project such as pregnancy and raising her daughter Adejare–whom she welcomed in 2020 with husband Adekunle Gold–and influence from outside.
However, it seems those challenges have now been overcome, with Deja almost 2 years old, meaning there’s now more clarity and room to binge studio sessions.
Right before us, Simi and Adekunle Gold’s love became one of Nollywood’s most storied and admired relationships. That’s not to say it’s been plain sailing since they tied the knot in 2019. After all, Gold was alleged to have cheated on Simi by a certain gossip blogger in 2021.
But both couples showed their emotional and mental strength as they often do, refusing to indulge the rumours, hence it morphed into another chaff talk that lacked even the slightest of substance.
Since then, their love has blossomed, careers too, with Gold releasing his 4th studio album “Catch Me If You Can” earlier this year and now Simi set to drop hers.
Simi is without doubt, one of the best vocalists and lyricists of her time and her fourth studio album will be titled “To Be Honest.”
It will release on the 3rd of June.
