Quarter 2 of 2022 is nearing its inevitable end as we set up for June, and ultimately Q3 and Q4 of 2022. It’s been a wonderful year for Nigerian music lovers so far, with many singles and albums dropping from both upcoming and established artists.
It’s usually busier towards the middle of the year too and we already know that some of the most anticipated albums will be releasing in early Q3. That roaster of course, includes Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini,” and Wizkid’s “More Love Less Ego,” with the possibility of both albums going head-to-head this mid-year, or what stateside people refer to as summer.
In addition, we know Davido’s fourth studio album is very close, while every one anxiously awaits Afrobeats sensation CKay’s debut album. That list can go on and on actually.
However, below is a list of the top 3 Nigerian albums dropping anticipated Nigerian albums of June 2022, with already confirmed titles and release dates.
#1 Simi – To Be Honest

Simi announced To Be Honest a couple of weeks ago, penning an emotional note to her fans. The singer and mother of one has already released a single ‘Naked Wire’ off the album, and will be hoping to continue enthralling fans with her prolific songwriting skills and bewitching vocals when TBH drops on Friday, June 3. #2 Falz aka Falz The Bahd Guy – BAHD
Release Date: June 9, 2022

BAHD is the title of rapper and singer Falz’s upcoming 5th solo project. The polymath has already teased that this project is different from his previous ones, and will see him lean more towards singing and Afrobeats. A collaboration with popular Hi-Life band The Cavemen has also been confirmed. And as from June 9, we can start savouring BAHD by Falz, aka Falz The Bahd Guy.
#3 Omah Lay – Boy Alone
Release Date: June 24

An Omah Lay debut at long last. Omah Lay became a global Afrobeats sensation off the back of two super EPs. The boy who grew up in the south-southern oil-rich city of Port Harcourt made numerous hit songs that became street anthems and dominated Tik Tok trends. Lay also made his official stateside debut by featuring Justin Bieber on “Attention,” one of the singles we expect to see on Boy Alone. He also recently released another promotional single and video off the album, the women-centric “Woman.”
