Simi and husband Adekunle Gold have already won our hearts over with their music, but what about their love and how they’ve made co-parenting so adorable? It pretty much looks like the couple are sweethearts on that front too.
The 33-year-old mother took to Instagram on Saturday, June 12, 2021, to remind us of her numerous talents that include parenting, writing, and being a wife. Sharing what appears to be a mirror selfie with Deja, her 1-year-old daughter seemingly tied to her back by means of a wrapper, Simi wrote:
“true story. I’m about to take a shower and make dinner, when she wakes up crying If I say e no pain me, I’d be lying
I catch a glimpse of myself as I pace the bathroom with her thrown on my back.
wild, beautiful afro baby wipes
My speaker looks a little older than Maslow
exhausted as I was, as I am
I love what I see.
So we’re making dinner, noodles for the record
As long as we’re fed, ain’t nobody worried about the method
for no reason at all, my man busts a move
I laugh, I needed that laugh to tell the truth
Now we’re gonna eat dinnerI’m only adding this line cos dinner rhymes with winner“
Both Simi and Adekunle Gold have taken to parenting like a duck to water. Making dinner with your child tied to your back is one of those vintage parenting skills that only classic parents would deploy in this modern era. Don’t you agree? It might be noodles she was making but just like Deja’s mum wrote, who cares the method as long as they’re fed?
Many fans acknowledged Simi’s witty writing. One called her “Lyrics queen,” another one referred to the singer as a poet, asking her to write that book already. One fan also lauded her as the mother of the year. If there was a competition for that and this piece was her entry, she may just have gotten her campaign off to a good start.
