Netflix is bringing Squid Game to life. The streaming service recently announced plans to give its biggest TV show new life by making it a reality TV show, one that’s touted to be “the biggest reality competition ever.”
Titled Squid Game: The Challenge, the reality show will have 456 players competing in a series of games for the chance to win $4.56 million.
Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of unscripted and documentary series, had this to say about the announcement:
“Squid Game took the world by storm with [director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s] captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment. Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest-ever cash prize at the end.”
Netflix recently officially announced a second season for ‘Squid Game,’ which has seen fans around the world excited at the possibility of more adventures.
The reality show is expected to consist of 10 episodes.
