It featured American Horror Story veteran Tassia Farmiga as a young novitiate who together with troubled priest (Demian Bichir) investigates the Romanian convent in the 1950s to discover the demonic nun played by Bonnie Aarons. The Nun made over $300 million at the box office becoming the franchises most successful film till date.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, set to join Tassia Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons in The Nun 2 in the lead role is fast rising 19-year-old actress Storm Reid. Reid made her acting debut in 2013 Oscar award winning drama 12 Years A Slave. Since then, she has gone on to star in movies like Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, The Invisible Man, HBO’s Euphoria amongst several others.  Her role as well as the plot of the film is still very much under wraps at this point but THR reports it be set in 1950s.
