Taraji P. Henson Wows Fans with Her Vocal Talent

A video of Taraji P. Henson flexing her vocal prowess at a karaoke session recently appeared on social media. The popular Hollywood actress best known for her Empire role as Cookie Lyon surprised a lot of fans by showing them she can actually sing.

Taraji P. Henson spent six (6) years on Empire playing the formidable and eccentric matriarch to the literal empire of a global music firm without ever really singing on the show, which left a lot of fans with a default impression that, perhaps, she didn’t have it in her. But this footage says otherwise. Henson can be seen singing a hilarious cover to Gloria Gaynor’s 1978 classic I will Survive and having fun while at it.

See the footage below:

Taraji P. Henson can soon be seen in the anticipated readaptation of the 1982 book and 1985 movie The Colour Purple. It’s a musical, so we can expect more of singing Taraji P. Henson. Fingers crossed.
