Taylor Swift is Kya in New Single “Carolina” | Listen

Taylor Swift shared a new single “Carolina” on Friday, June 24. The song is Swift’s contribution to the soundtrack of the film Where the Crawdads Sing. The film follows a young girl named Kya (portrayed by Daisy Edgar-Jones) who grows up isolated in the marsh of North Carolina. Check out the trailer below.

“Carolina” is based on a bestseller book of the same title and Swift was recruited to helm the film’s major soundtrack. Although we first hear a snippet of the song in the film’s trailer which released earlier in March, Swift had penned the song over a year ago and turned to long-time collaborator Aaron Dessner to handle the production.
