Following her history-making triumph at the 2022 BET Awards, Tems penned an emotional thank you note to her fellow female African singers via Twitter.
The 26-year-old singer shared the message of love and togetherness a day after she had been rewarded with the Best International Act award at the 2022 BET Awards, becoming the first female Nigerian artist to achieve the feat.
Tems began her message: “I’m taking today to appreciate alll the Sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it…”
She continued by namedropping some of Africa’s big female singing sensations including Asa, Omawunmi, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Waje, Simi, Niniola, Amarae, Gyakie, Ayra Starr, Fave, and Teni.

Tems continued the tweet by pointing out that a win for any of them is a win for her, that more is set to come as they win collectively.
She ended the note by assuring the sisterhood of her commitment to keeping in touch and expressing her gratitude at their goodwill messages.
