Tems revealed on Tuesday, June 14 that she has been diagnosed with ‘reflux laryngitis’ — an inflammation of the larynx that houses the vocal cords, leading to irregular tone or speech. Reflux laryngitis is a medical condition caused by the the backward flow of fluids, especially acidic fluids from the stomach into the gut, and usually affects singers.
In a note posted via her Twitter handle, Tems revealed that her medical team has advised her to take a break from singing, and as a result her shows in Birmingham and London, UK on June 15 and 17 respectively have been postponed, with new dates set to be announced on Wednesday, June 15.
However, all tickets for the two events are still valid, and will be used for the new fixed dates. Tems ended the note in emotional fashion apologizing to fans for the cancellation and thanking them for understanding. Check out the note in the Tweet below.
We wish the sensational singer a speedy recovery.
