Nigeria’s Tems has added another accolade to her ever-growing cabinet of awards. She picked up the award for Best Collaboration at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards with her appearance on Wait For U alongside Future & Drake.
Fellow Nigerian Burna Boy also got a nomination along with other Africans like Ghana’s Black Sheriff, Zimbabwe’s Nadia Nakai, and Blxckie from South Africa. Unfortunately, none managed to bring the award home.
Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar was the highest winner on the night, taking home 6 awards from 9 nominations.
The 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards was a recognition ceremony that was held on October 4, 2022 as the 17th installment of the BET Hip Hop Awards. The nominations were announced on September 12, 2022. The ceremony was hosted by veteran rapper Fat Joe.
