Ahead of its impending sale, The CW went on a cancellation spree yesterday. A move that is reminiscent of the 2005 WB/ UBN merger that gave rise to the network.
Just like in 2005, with the likes of Supernatural surviving the apocalypse, not all shows at The CW will be getting the axe; some will make it to the hands of the new owners under the umbrella of whatever name the network decides to go with afterward.
Here’s a quick summary of what’s been canceled and what’s returning for the new season. See previously canceled shows at The CW HERE.
- Rosewell: New Mexico
- In The Dark
- The 4400
- The Flash
- Superman and Lois
- Kung Fu
- Nancy Drew
- All American
- All American: Homecoming
New pilots picked-up:
- The Winchesters; A Supernatural prequel spin-off.
- Walker: Independence; A Walker prequel set in the 1800s
- Gotham Knights
For those who don’t know, following a merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia, which The CW falls under, the fate of the TV network has been in disarray. We know the network is up for possible sale but a deal hasn’t been reached from any of the potential buyers.
