Spotify and their footballing partner FC Barcelona celebrated Canadian rapper, Drake’s over-50-billion streams on the platform with a limited edition OVO shirts for their game league against arch rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, October 17.

But it didn’t end in quite the happy note for both Barcelona and Drake, who bet that the Catalan club was going to emerge winners. According to a bet ticket shared by Bleacher Report on Instagram, Drake staked 833K dollars’ worth Bitcoins on both Barcelona and Arsenal winning away from home at the Bernabeu and Elland Road, the respective homes of their opponents.

While Arsenal beat their premier league rivals with the score-line ending 1-0 in favour of the Gunners, Madrid proved too strong for Barcelona and were 2 goals to the good before half time. The game eventually ended 3-1 in favour of the host. Quite the classic Drake gambling curse.

Drake, who is now the most streamed artist on Spotify, is notorious for his mega-gambling activities, betting as much as a million dollars on UFC fights, NBA games and so on. According to what we know, he’s lost more than he’s won– a theory that made the media coin the “Drake Curse.” But the Canadian business mogul will not be ruing those missed chances as long as the streaming number continue soaring.
