The Flash is coming to end after 9 seasons. The 9th and final season will air in 2023 and will consist of only 13 episodes.
This move by #TheCW will mark the unofficial end of the Arrowverse which began in 2012 with Arrow.
“Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey full of heart, humor and spectacle. And now Barry Allen has reached the starting gate for his last race,” executive producer/showrunner Eric Wallace said in a statement announcing the cancellation. “So many amazing people have given their talents, time, and love to bring this wonderful show to life each week. So, as we get ready to honor the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew over the years who helped make The Flash such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world.”
News of all the cancellations at The CW follows now confirmed reports that the network is changing hands of ownership.
The CW has canceled more shows than its ever done during its years in service. Some of the renewed ones alongside The Flash’s final season include All American and its spinoff, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Superman & Lois, Walker, Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence, and the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters.
