Author and founder of Smart Money Africa, Arese Ugwu has announced her created Tv series, Smart Money Woman is coming to the streaming platform, Netflix this September.
The 13-episode Tv series is an adaptation of Arese’s 2016 book with the same title. The bestseller was later turned into a series in September last year.
She took to Instagram to share the official release date saying:
“#TSMWseries starts streaming on Netflix September 16th guys!!!!
We waited on a date for so long but when it finally came it felt like it had been written in the stars or something because tell me why Sept 16th 2020 was the day of our Premiere Party last year!! 😂 The day I officially shared my work with my family, friends and co-workers!
Sept 16th 2021…. We go again!!! Netflix babyyyyy.”
Produced by Lala Akindoju, who doubles up as part of the cast, the show follows the life of Zuri played by Osas Ighodaro, on her journey to financial liberation. Each episode tackles, debt, spending, the consumerist culture of the African middle class, the fear and misconceptions surrounding money.
It also focuses on love friendships, cultural and societal pressures and the roles they play in success.
It includes a stacked cast featuring Osas Ighodaro, Toni Tones, Ini Dima-Okojie, Ebenezer Eno, and Kemi Lala Akindoju.
