The live shows began last weekend and it was totally worth the wait.
Although, the performances were barely above a minute as a result of time constraint, the contestants didn’t fail to deliver exceptional performances.

Let’s dive straight into the highlights of the show;

Elizabeth, “Eazzie” from Team Waje kicked off the show with an energetic performance of “If you ask me” by Omawumi. It was a great start to the show and the perfect song for Eazzie’s voice range. Even more, she met the expectations of her coach, Waje, who is good friends with the singer, Omawumi.

Next off was Inioluwa with his calm delivery of Wizkid’s “Essence” ft tems. Contrary to all of his other performances during the battles and knockouts, this was rather average. His voice seemed off, the back up singers were surprisingly absent, and Ini, basically struggled till the last second. I believe it might just have been a wrong song choice.

On the other hand, Kpee from Team Darey chose a song out of his niche this time. According to the Afrobeat singer, he needed to show the viewers a different side of him. However, in my opinion, singing Chike’s “Roju” didn’t play so well in his favor. Thankfully, his youthful charisma came through in places his voice couldn’t.

Furthermore, the apex of the show were Naomi Mac, Esther and Kitay. Coincidentally, they are all oldies to stage performances, having participated in past singing shows. They all showcased their various vocal strengths with soulful and exhilarating performances.

As the show came to an end, the coaches were expected to save one talent each on their teams. This talent stands a chance to perform next week while the rest of the talents stay up for possible eviction.

Eazzie, Kitay, Esther and Naomi Mac were saved by their respective coaches for being the most outstanding while the fate of the remaining eight contestants not saved lies in the hands of the viewers voting.
