Thor: Love and Thunder, the Norse god’s fourth entry into the MCU has had its Disney+ release date revealed by the streaming service. After the release of 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok to both financial success and critical acclaim, Taika Watiti returned to direct the fourth instalment of the movie which was released in theatres on May 8. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor teams up with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and ex-flame Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman to defeat Gorr the Butcher played by Christian Bale who seeks the extinction of all the gods.
The Mighty Thor’s fourth outing failed to live up to expectations set by the previous film with fans despite having praise for Christian Bale’s and Natalie Portman’s performances, criticizing the poor state of CGI in the film and the extensive use of humor.
Disney+ announced on Monday that Thor: Love and Thunder will be hitting the streaming service come September 8th. Alongside Thor: Love and Thunder, Frozen, Frozen 2 and Pinocchio are all expected to premier on Disney+ on the same date.
