Tchidi Chikere’s Blood Sisters is undoubtedly one of our favorite movies from that early 2000s era.

It saw Nollywood’s screen goddesses, Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekehinde play major roles and unlike the Ebonylife’s Blood sisters, the duo actually starred as ‘sisters’ in the movie.

If there’s one thing Nollywood did great at, it’s making sure siblings never looked alike, but who cared? We wanted the combo and this movie gave us just that, well up until “Ije” in 2010.

Blood Sisters told the intriguing story of two sisters who become entangled in a web of jealousy, hatred, and rivalry.

Esther, (Genevieve Nnaji) despises her sister, Gloria (Omotola Jakande Ekehinde) for being better at her at different aspects of life; at academics, having a great character and being approached by men.

Her endless jealously inevitably turns to hatred as she ends up poisoning Gloria and eventually taking over her household.

The 2003 drama also starred other movie icons including veteran, Patience Ozokwor, Tony Umez, Oge Okoye and Offia Mbaka.

Blood Sisters was one movie that helped solidify the careers of Nnaji and Jalade in the Nigerian movie industry.
