Simi Drops By Cool FM, Talks New Music, New Album and More

Although the title might be polemic, Simi says fans shouldn’t expect any controversies from her upcoming album “To be Honest.”

The wait to hear To Be Honest by Simi is almost over.

Ahead of the release of her fourth studio album, To Be Honest, renowned Nigerian singer Simi stopped by Lagos’ Cool FM, where she spoke about motherhood, new song Naked Wire, her creative process and more.

Simi’s latest single Naked Wire released on May 20 and is the first single off her forthcoming body of work will release in a few days time, on June 3.

The prolific singer shared some insights about her ideas of motherhood, revealing that she takes parenting seriously and enjoys it. In an emotional letter Simi released prior to the announcement of To be Honest, she talked about how pregnancy and parenthood disrupted her creative calendar, forcing her to wait for the perfect time before she could release any project.

Continuing on the Cool FM cameo, the “Duduke” singer admitted that the 2020 hit song remains her biggest performance yet and opened up that she has no particular routine she follows before recording.

About To be Honest, Simi revealed that despite the polemic title, fans shouldn’t expect any controversies and that the album is basically about her trying to tell her own story.

She also revealed there are two guest features on the album, including husband and fellow artist Adekunle Gold on the median song of the 11-track album Balance.

However, she remained coy on the other features, but according to the pre-sale information on Apple Music, Simi’s To be Honest will also see guest features from Baby Riddim star, Fave, and daughter Deja.
