As usual, we’ve gone through the difficult task of picking the 5 top songs from rap duo, Show Dem Camp’s (SDC) electrifying hip-life album, Palm Wine Music Vol. 3.
Out of an excellent groovy album, played out in 17 tracks of 14 songs and 3 skits, these are the 5 best hits.
#5 Live Life — Featuring Tems
Live Life featuring Tems is our number 5. Tems probably steals the song from Tec and Ghost, but it’s still the perfect collaboration, as Tems’ Jamaican-style dancehall hook complements SDC’s palm wine raps.
#4 Head Over Heels — Featuring Victony
Apart from SDC’s flamboyant rap techniques, one other thing has remained constant throughout their decade-long career, their ability to bring the most talented artists together on a project. Victony takes center stage on Head Over Heels, cementing his appearance as memorable with his performance.
#3 Wyw — Featuring Bellah
Exhibit number 9 Wyw is our third best song on Palm Wine Music Vol. 3. Like its mid position on the album sequencing, it perfectly summarizes the themes on love, with Bellah’s vocals as bewitching as ever.
#2 Feel Something — Featuring Tim Lyre
Tim Lyre’s vocals may have been the perfect catalyst but, many things make this record stand out, including the subdued instrumental, looping in sync with Lyre’s hook and Tec and Ghost’s delivery, and the subject of the discourse. Clearly, the type of song that gets better with every passing play.
#1 Mine Alone — Featuring Oxlade
In truth, every one of the songs on this list qualifies to sit at the top and most SDC fans will agree. It’s testament to the incredible work that Ghost and Tec does. Songs like Freaky featuring Mannywellz, Apolo featuring Tay Iwar, and Rolling featuring TOBI don’t even make the list, and these are very good records.
