“With actresses like Ini Dima-Okojie in Nollywood, the industry is in safe hands.”
Those words were taken off Twitter from a fan very impressed by this actress’ commendable performance in the recently released Netflix Original Blood Sisters.
Although her career is growing and the actress is still being revealed to new sets of audiences, I believe there are still enough materials to rank her works so far. If there was ever a good time to know Ini Dima-Okojie, now’s the time.
In no particular order, here are our top 5 Ini Dima-Okojie acting performances.
It’s Her Day (2016)
A groom begins to regret boasting that he can foot the entire bill for a dream wedding after realising his bride wants a large, outrageous ceremony.
Ini Dima-Okojie plays the materialistic bride, and it is hilarious.
After a man decides to embrace adulthood and marry his girlfriend, his longtime imaginary friend tries to destroy his peaceful life.
Ini didn’t play a major role here, but it was impactful enough for 2018 me to realize this lady has got some real talent. Alongside powerhouses like Zainab Balogun and Chris Attoh, Ini Dima-Okojie does some really good acting work here.
Namaste Wahala (2020)
An interracial couple face a new dilemma when their respective parents find out about their relationship and disapprove.
Ini’s first Netflix Original comes in this interracial romcom where she plays the lead. It’s a beautifully flawed story about finding love in the unlikeliest and most hopeless of places.
Who’s the Boss? (2020)
A young, overworked ad executive with an overbearing boss starts her own side hustle and must invent an employer when her business begins to flourish.
Although Dima-Okojie didn’t star as a lead in this drama, there’s still enough of her to make fans happy. Also, there’s the friendship chemistry between her and Sharon Ooja to look forward to. That has to count for something, right?
Blood Sisters (2022)
Bound by a dangerous secret, friends Sarah and Kemi are forced to go on the run after a wealthy groom disappears during his engagement party.
This is the film of the hour. Ini plays one half of the titular sisters in this 4-part limited series. It’s bloody, interesting, flawed, and above all, it is Ini at her finest.
