It was a dramatic night of Champions League Football on Tuesday, November 1, as the first part of the final group stage matches went down– English side Totenham Hotspur FC secured passage to the second round of the tournament and celebrated their triumph with Burna Boy’s globetrotting hit song “Last Last.”

In group D where Spurs were drawn with French side Marseille, German side Frankfurt, and Portuguese side Sporting CP, Spurs needed to avoid a defeat against Marseille to ensure qualification to the round of 16.

However, playing at home and buoyed by over forty thousand supporters, it was Marseille who took the initiative, going into the second half with a 1-goal advantage. At that time, Spurs were bottom of the group as results between the other group members did not favour them either.

But things took a dramatic turn when the 2019 finalists equalised through a Clement Langlet goal on 54 minutes. Elsewhere, Frankfurt took the lead against Sporting to put Spurs top of the group. Marseille pushed to restore their half-time advantage, but a Pierre Emile Hojberg goal, 5 minutes after regulation time ensured Spurs made it the second round as group winners.

England captain and forward Harry Kane and season debutant, Malian, Yives Bissouma led the dressing room celebrations, as they danced and mouthed the lyrics of Burna Boy’s “Last Last.”
