Avatar: The Way of Water’s December 16 release date might be 7 months away, but marketing for what may well be the biggest movie of 2022 is already underway.
After teasing fans with the title and a few still, James Cameron and Disney’s 20th Century Studio has taken it a step further with the release of the first teaser trailer for the upcoming movie.
Avatar: The Way of Water will continue the adventures of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Ney’tiri (Zoe Saldana) who have formed a family and are doing everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the nature of this threat as it takes a more peaceful approach to reacquaint the audience (old and new) with the world of Pandora. Judging by what can be seen, it looks like we’re in for a visual treat from Cameron.
Avatar: The Way of Water stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, Cliff Curtis, and Michelle Yeoh, among other stars. It arrives in cinemas on December 16, 2022.
