Marvel Studios recently debuted the first trailer for Thor 4 subtitled Love and Thunder, and it looks like we’re in for another crazy MCU adventure.
Following Thor’s solo adventures revamp at the hands of comedy maestro Taika Waititi with the well-received 2017 Thor: Ragnarok, a lot of people have eagerly anticipating the arrival of Thor: Love and Thunder. Now we have a release date to look forward to – July 8.
We see the return of shdredded Thor and an official synopsis from Marvel Studios as to the direction the Chris Hemsworth character is headed:
“A new trailer and poster are now available for Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ offering long-awaited clues to what’s in store for the God of Thunder. The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Directed by Waititi (‘Thor: Ragnarok,’ ‘Jojo Rabbit’) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ opens in theaters July 8, 2022.”

Some of the returning characters we see in the trailer include Peter Quill/ Star Lord, Mantis, Drax, Groot, Rocket, and Nebula of the Guardians of the Galaxy fame. There’s also Valkyrie, Korg, The Grandmaster, and Lady Sif from the earlier Thor movies. And then there’s Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster making her anticipated return to the franchise and debut as Mighty Thor. You need to watch up to the end of the trailer to get a glimpse of what she looks like for this movie. It’s awesome!
After many rounds of rumour on the internet about what he’d look like in this movie, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher is no where to be found in this trailer.
Mark you calendars. The MCU’s God of Thunder swings into theatres this July 8.
