House of the Dragon trails the story of house Targaryen and the civil war that took place within them about 300 years before the events portrayed in Game of Thrones.
HBO has spared no expense in bringing us this prequel that promises to be as crazy as the eight seasons of Game of Thrones content that came before it. Rumour has it the cable network spent upwards to the tune of $200 million dollars on this first season, and come August 21, 2022, we’ll be able to see for ourselves if it’s money well spent.
House of the Dragon stars Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, and lots of new dragons, to mention but a few.
House of the Dragons faces competition from Amazon Prime Videos’ Lord of the RIng: The Rings of Power, a TV show based on an arguably equally popular franchise. It’s more content for fans of the fantasy genre; for the networks, it’s showtime – may the best storyteller win!
