Tyrese Gibson is no stranger to Hollywood blockbusters. The hunky actor has been part of the Fast & Furious film series since 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious and, most recently, appeared in Sony’s Morbius as FBI agent Simon Stroud, who hunted down Jared Leto’s vampire.
Gibson took to Instagram to share an image clip of himself and comic-book page of Blade with a caption that read “We on!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
While this isn’t much to go by, it still raises specks of dust about his possible casting and the role he could potentially be playing.
On the flip side: this can also be viewed as a campaign by Tyrese Gibson for the role of Blade even though Marvel Studios has already announced Mahershala Ali, with the actor even having a cameo in the post-credit scene of Eternals (2021).
So far, the actors confirmed to be appearing in Blade are Mahershala Ali, Da 5 Blood’s Delroy Lindo, and Krypton’s Aaron Pierre. Bassam Tariq is set to direct, Stacy Osei-Kuffour is penning the script, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is producing.
If Gibson does have a role in Blade, it will likely be announced soon.
