Veteran Gospel Singer Sammie Okposo Dead at 51

Barely a day after legendary gospel singer Sammie Okposo shared a throwback photo of his Praise Party on Instagram, he has sadly passed away.

The renowned singer died on Friday morning, according to multiple media reports. He was aged 51.

Born and bred in Delta state, Okposo gave us the hit gospel song Welu Welu and the Naija Praise, a medley of Christian songs dedicated to various Nigerian tribes. His recent album, The Statement, was produced by Grammy Award winner, Kevin Bond. May his soul rest in peace.
