Viola Davis has written a memoir (Finding Me) and in a line of events leading up to its release later this month, she’ll be sitting down with TV business mogul Oprah Winfrey in what’s titled ‘Oprah + Viola: A Netflix Special Event’.
The 48-minute special will premiere on Netflix on April 22. There, Viola will open up about her life, talking about various facets from her childhood filled with “unimaginable poverty,” to how she was able to rise up from all that and build a respectable career for herself in Hollywood, a career that has seen her win almost every prestigious award from a Tony to an Oscar to SAG and an Emmy for Best Actress.

In recent times, Oprah Winfrey has been shown to be building a new enviable list of A-list interviews having featured the likes of Rihanna, Ellen DeGeneres, Barack Obama, Kim Kardashian, and Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, and it’s only fitting that someone of Viola Davis’ status makes that list.
Viola Davis can be seen in the soon-to-premiere Showtime anthology TV series, The First Lady, and The Woman King, a movie based on the true story of the Dahomey kingdom in Africa.
